Position: SHEQ Controller

Location: Boksburg, Gauteng

Position Description

The main Purpose of the role is to ensure that the branch complies with the SHERQ system as described in the Volvo Southern Africa procedures.
 
Job Objectives:

  • Maintain the Volvo Safety Management system as per the Safety Management System in consultation with the National Safety and Risk Manager.
    • The SHEQ Controller is responsible for coordinating the Quality, Environmental, Health, Safety, legal compliance within the Dealer.
    • Ensure that the business complies with all relevant SHEQ legislation, company policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that SHEQ meetings are held, recorded and documented.
    • Ensure contractors’ compliance.
    • Promote SHEQ Awareness within the Dealership.
    • Assist with Health & Safety Quality audits. Monitor audit findings and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
    • Maintain all site safety files.
    • LTAR – Reporting of all workplace related incidents and ensure that internal investigations are completed timeously and recommended improvements implemented.
    • Ensure all Directives are rolled out and assessments are completed as required.
    • Ensure that all the lifting equipment complies with legislation.
    • All safety equipment is checked as per safety registers.
    • Ensure that the necessary training of personnel takes place.
    • Complete management of the IOD process.
    • Create within the branch a “safety culture”.
    • Maintain the suppliers list.
    • Ensure that the branch complies to local council regulations for the Environment.
    • Ensure that the scrap is removed timeously.
    • Ensure that the used oil is stored and removed as per local council regulations.
    • Ensure that the branch is clean at all times.

Qualification & Job Experience:

  • Matric.
  • 2 Years in developing and maintaining SHERQ systems.
  • Administration skills.
  • Quality control abilities.

  • Reliability.
  • Honesty.
  • Basic Planning and organizing.
