The Technician’s Assistant will assist technicians with the preparation, installation, and maintenance of fire safety systems, support the handling and transportation of tools and materials, and help maintain vehicles and equipment assigned to the team. Candidates must be physically fit for manual labour, reside within 20 km of Cape Town International Airport industrial area, and possess a valid driver’s licence and South African ID. Applicants must also have sober habits, a clear criminal record, and Matric with Mathematics Literacy as a minimum qualification, while Mathematics, Physical Science, Electronics, Industrial Electronics, or Engineering Drawing will be advantageous. Job Purpose

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist technicians with preparation, installation, and maintenance of fire detection systems.
- Support installation and servicing of sprinkler systems and gas suppression systems.
- Assist with portable fire equipment installations and maintenance.
- Participate in on-site technical training provided by qualified technicians.
- Help maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles assigned to the technical team.
- Assist with collecting materials and equipment from suppliers or clients.
- Support general maintenance work around the office or customer sites when required.
- Follow company employment policies and procedures.
- Observe and follow the company’s Health and Safety policy.
- Participate in internal training programs and technical development initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor.
- Must live within 20 km of Cape Town International Airport industrial area.
- Valid driver’s license is compulsory.
- Valid South African identity document.
- Sober habits as drug and alcohol testing will be conducted regularly.
- Clear criminal record required.
- Matric certificate with Mathematics Literacy.
Advantageous Qualifications

- TVET or N3 qualification in technical or engineering-related subjects.
- Subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Electronics, Industrial Electronics, or Engineering Drawing.
- Candidates with electrical or heavy current qualifications may not be suited for this specific industry.
