Cargo Carriers invites applications for 35 Ultra Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver (UHMV) positions at the Luanshya Branch in Zambia. Successful candidates will report to the Contracts Manager and will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of cargo, including dangerous goods, in accordance with operational and legislative requirements.

The role involves maintaining communication with supervisors while on route, reporting incidents or potential risks, completing log sheets and delivery documentation, ensuring vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness, and delivering cargo according to customer requirements. Compliance with SHEQ standards and participation in safety procedures form part of daily responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 / Standard 10 certificate
  • Valid Code C/E driver’s license
  • Valid PrDP
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ driving experience, preferably transporting dangerous goods
  • Experience operating super link loads
  • National Certificate in Professional Driving will be advantageous
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to complete log sheets, delivery notes, and operational documentation accurately
  • Strong customer interaction skills
  • Clean service record and clear criminal record
  • Traceable references
  • Willingness to undergo a full medical and driving evaluation
Key Responsibilities

Duties include maintaining communication with supervisors during designated stop periods, reporting route incidents, completing regulatory log sheets, ensuring vehicles remain clean and defect-free, supporting timely cargo delivery, and complying with SHEQ procedures and operational standards.
