Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification
- Valid driver’s licence with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) for transporting people
- Occupational Health and Safety experience
- Two (2) to three (3) years’ experience as a professional Messenger or Driver
- First Aid training certificate
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform the following duties:
- Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations at all times
- Ensure compliance with Fleet Management Standard Operating Procedures and the Code of Conduct for official vehicles
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report safety defects
- Ensure workplace safety measures are consistently followed
- Operate official vehicles in accordance with licence and PDP requirements under the National Road Traffic Act
- Provide driving services for staff, including executive and non-executive transport when required
- Maintain vehicles in a clean, presentable, and roadworthy condition
- Report vehicle defects, incidents, and accidents promptly
- Monitor fuel and oil stock levels of assigned vehicles
- Transport official documentation, postage, branding materials, and light goods
- Maintain records of postage received and delivered
- Record shipment and consignment details accurately
- Keep records of traffic infringements, fuel receipts, and toll slips
- Complete driver log sheets, trip permits, and mileage records
- Conduct annual maintenance scheduling and monthly vehicle inspections
- Perform printing, collating, and binding support duties for Facilities Operations
- Capture information manually in non-computerised records when required
- Provide general administrative support
- Report incidents and operational issues to the supervisor
- Deliver professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Share general park-related information when interacting with visitors and staff
