Requirements
- Senior Certificate / National Senior Certificate / National Senior Certificate Vocational.
- Only registered tertiary students, unemployed persons with one or more tertiary qualifications, and unemployed graduates may apply.
- Advanced numerical skills are essential, with Mathematics or Accounting as compulsory subjects.
- Second-year and above tertiary students will be given preference.
- Previous experience in examinations administration as an Examination Assistant (marking centre or office-based) should be indicated.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is essential.
Duties
Examination Assistants
- Receive, check, control, scan, and pack scripts for marking.
- Ensure correct number of scripts and marksheets per batch, subject, paper, and examination session.
- Address discrepancies in batches, subjects, papers, or sessions.
- Ensure each bag of scripts includes two copies of the MP Flow control list and is tagged with the correct colour-coded marking venue label.
- Create marking centre files for all scripts to be dispatched.
- Assist with dispatching scripts to marking venues.
- Receive, control, and archive marked scripts at Head Office for retrieval when required.
Quality Assurers
- Receive, control, and distribute scripts to marking teams.
- Ensure correct number of scripts and marksheets per batch during marking.
- Assist with controlling, distribution, and scanning of scripts.
- Verify that all questions are marked, totals are correct, and marks are transferred accurately to the front cover and marksheet.
- Address discrepancies with marking teams and ensure amendments are made.
- Reconcile and arrange scripts per subject and paper for indexed archival after marking.
Important Notes
- Persons writing National Senior Certificate / Senior Certificate and AET Examinations in 2026, persons who have taken the VSP, and persons employed elsewhere may not apply.
