All employment decisions will be guided by the Department’s Employment Equity Plan. Members of the Senior Management Service (SMS), where applicable to related posts, will be subjected to an additional technical exercise, interview process, and psychometric assessment covering cognitive capability, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity, limited to a maximum of three candidates following the technical exercise and interview stage.

Candidates with a background in social work who meet the SACSSP registration requirement, and particularly those with prior exposure to special needs education, are encouraged to review the full list of reference numbers carefully before submitting an application, since incorrect referencing may result in an application being misdirected to the wrong district office.
