Position: Maintenance Superintendent
Location: Roodepoort Plant, Gauteng
Closing Date: 05 August 2025
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing all electrical and mechanical maintenance activities.
- Ensuring safe and efficient maintenance of MV (up to 11 kV) and LV switchgear, transformers, motors and power distribution systems.
- Developing and optimising Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Implementing and overseeing precision corrective maintenance techniques.
- Managing and analysing maintenance data to support technical reporting and decision-making.
- Actively participating in reliability improvement programs, including FRACAS, RCA and RCFA.
- Leading, mentoring and developing maintenance personnel to enhance technical skills.
- Ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards, Occupational Safety Act regulations and medium-voltage safety protocols.
- Managing the activities of maintaining data in the Preventive Maintenance Management Systems, Computerised Maintenance Management Systems and Preventive Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance techniques databases.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Preferred qualification of N5 with a recognised Electrical/Millwright Trade qualification, together with 10 years’ experience in heavy industry, experience in cement plant will be advantageous.
- Qualified Electrical/ Millwright Artisan with MV/LV (up to 11kV) certification with minimum 10 years’ experience in Preventive and Precision Corrective Maintenance in an industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of rotating equipment, gearboxes, lubrication analysis and fault diagnostics.
- Cement plant maintenance experience, preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of CMMS (SAP) and technical reporting
- A proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams
- Sound understanding of operation maintenance strategies
- Very proficient in using computer software
