Key Responsibilities

As a Casual Cashier in the Department of Community Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of sports and recreation facilities, including swimming pools. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Transaction Processing: Execute tasks related to receiving and receipting payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures
  • Customer Service: Provide clear and concise information to clients regarding charges and services, addressing inquiries professionally
  • Cash Handling: Record daily total collections against receipts and prepare schedules for verification before forwarding cash and cheques for depositing
  • Task Prioritization: Plan and execute tasks in order of priority and urgency to maintain operational efficiency
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Follow through on client-selected options within the framework of municipal policies and procedures
  • Public Interaction: Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor when engaging with the general public and stakeholders
  • Adaptable Communication: Tailor communication content and style to suit the audience, ensuring clarity and understanding
  • Resilience: Handle challenging or emotionally charged situations with professionalism and composure
  • Weekend and Holiday Availability: Be available to work on weekends and public holidays as required to support facility operations
