MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 07 or ABET Level 3
- Basic reading and writing literacy
- No previous experience required
- Physically fit and in good health (Medical Certificate will be required after selection)
- Good eyesight
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, carry, lift and push heavy objects
- Prepared to work shifts, in confined spaces and at elevated heights
- Graduates in the relevant field will be prioritised
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS / DUTIES
- Perform general labour and manual work
- Digging of trenches and backfilling
- Loading and off-loading of materials and fittings
- Assist Artisans/Plumbers with opening blocked sewer lines and repairing burst water pipes
- Cleaning of surroundings (reservoirs, pump stations, offices, boreholes, cemeteries, parks, gardens, open spaces, etc.)
- Grass cutting and general garden/park maintenance
- Grave digging, litter picking and cemetery maintenance
- Routine office and facility cleaning (sweeping, mopping, dusting, washing dishes, cleaning kitchens and ablution facilities, replacing refuse bags and toilet rolls, etc.)
- Cleaning of tools, equipment and municipal vehicles using high-pressure systems or manual methods
- Housekeeping of cleaning equipment (hoovers, scrubbing machines, etc.)
- Stacking and storing tools in designated areas and reporting condition/status to supervisor
- Any other related duties as instructed by the supervisor
