Department of Health: EMS Sessional Cleaner

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A minimum of Grade 10 (authentic school report) or a relevant NQF Level 2 qualification
  • A valid Code 10 (C1) driver’s licence with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
  • At least 5 years’ driving experience
  • Experience in the public service environment will be an added advantage
  • Basic knowledge of Government Fleet and Transport Policies
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to adhere to schedules
  • Good verbal communication skills and interpersonal relations
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles, Patients’ Rights, and the Six Ministerial Priorities
  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, and to rotate
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Exception will be granted to people with disabilities where a driver’s licence is mandatory
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidates will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Operate motor vehicles in accordance with prescribed procedures and policies
  • Obtain trip authorities and complete vehicle logbooks as required by legislation
  • Inspect vehicles and report defects to the Transport Manager for timely repairs
  • Check fuel, oil, water levels, and tyre conditions
  • Ensure the safe transportation of staff and patients to various destinations
  • Perform messenger duties, routine office support, and registry functions
  • Assist with loading and offloading of goods
  • Promote the proper handling, safekeeping, and control of vehicles
  • Carry out any other duties as instructed by the supervisor
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • A recently updated, comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Registration Certificate with the relevant professional body (HPCSA), where applicable
