CLOSING DATE: 06 February 2026 at 16:00

Applications must be submitted on a Z83 Form (2021 version), obtainable from http://www.dpsa.gov.za/dpsa2g/vacancies.asp, and must be accompanied by a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae. The post particulars and the correct reference number must be clearly indicated on the application form. Short-listed applicants will be required to produce original documents, including an identity document, Senior Certificate, all educational qualifications obtained, service certificates from previous employers indicating the occupation held, and a valid motor vehicle driver’s licence, prior to the interview. All qualifications and driver’s licences submitted will be subjected to verification with the relevant institutions. It remains the responsibility of applicants to ensure that applications are submitted timeously to the correct physical address as specified, noting that applications submitted to an incorrect address will not be considered and that late applications will not be accepted or considered.

Short-listed candidates will be subjected to fingerprint screening, reference checks, and verification of residential address where required. Candidates shortlisted for appointment to certain identified posts will be vetted in accordance with the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act, 2007 (Act No. 32 of 2007), and the Children’s Act, 2005 (Act No. 38 of 2005), and any candidate whose particulars appear in the National Register for Sex Offenders or Part B of the Child Protection Register will be disqualified from appointment. Applicants are expected to disclose whether he or she is a respondent in an interim or final protection order in terms of the Domestic Violence Act, 1998 (Act No. 116 of 1998), or the Protection from Harassment Act, 2011 (Act No. 17 of 2011), and may be disqualified accordingly. In line with the Criminal Law (Forensic Procedures) Amendment Act, 2013 (Act No. 37 of 2013), all new appointments in the South African Police Service from 31 January 2015 are required to provide a buccal (inside cheek) sample for the determination of a forensic DNA profile, which will be loaded onto the Elimination Index of the National Forensic DNA Database.

Candidates may be required to undergo a personal interview and practical assessment where applicable, with appointments made in terms of the Public Service Act, 1994 (Act No. 103 of 1994). Persons who retired from the Public Service through severance packages, early retirement, or medical retirement, as well as persons with previous convictions, are excluded. The South African Police Service is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer, and preference will be given to candidates whose appointment or transfer promotes representivity.

Correspondence will be limited to successful candidates only, and all shortlisted candidates, including members of the Senior Management Service, will be required to complete two pre-entry assessments, namely a practical assessment and an integrity assessment. If no communication is received within three (3) months after the closing date, the application should be regarded as unsuccessful, and the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation retains the right not to fill a post after advertisement.
