Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

Skills and Knowledge Required

Financial and Accounting Knowledge

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Accounting Clerk: Production will perform various financial administration and accounting-related functions.
One of the key responsibilities will be performing cashier duties, including paying out cash advances and receiving State monies into the Paymaster General Account (PMG).
The successful candidate will receive cash from clients and verify whether payments are correct according to the purpose of the payment. Official receipts must be issued, and revenue must be allocated accurately.
The position also involves preparing and capturing deposits on the Financial Management System (FMS) within the required timeframes. Deposits must then be securely dispatched to the bank.
Candidates will also be responsible for the safekeeping and issuing of Face Value Documents (FVD) and maintaining accounting documentation for audit purposes.
Financial Records and Documentation
Accurate recordkeeping will form an important part of the role.
Duties include:
- General administrative functions.
- Archiving accounting documentation.
- Filing financial records.
- Safekeeping payment documentation.
- Maintaining accounting records for audit purposes.
- Recording accounting transactions accurately.
- Conducting enquiries on the Financial Management System.
- Capturing related financial transactions.

The position requires strict compliance with applicable policies, prescripts and regulations.
Claims and Invoice Administration
The Accounting Clerk will also assist with financial claims and invoices.
Duties include administering claims on the central Advance System and capturing related accounting transactions on the Financial Management System.
The successful candidate may also be required to scrutinise, verify, register and couple medical and supplier invoices for payment.
Other responsibilities include confirming Telkom accounts and assisting with general administration and accounting functions at the Financial Accounting Service Centre.

Important Application Rules
