An additional Administration Clerk vacancy is available in Springbok. The successful candidate will provide general clerical support and ensure effective administrative operations within the district office environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support services within the component.

General Clerical Support Services

Key responsibilities include:

  • Recording, organising, storing, capturing, and retrieving correspondence and data
  • Updating registers and statistics
  • Handling routine enquiries
  • Making photocopies
  • Sending and receiving facsimiles
  • Distributing documents and packages to stakeholders
  • Maintaining filing systems
  • Typing letters and correspondence
  • Maintaining incoming and outgoing document registers

Candidates must be able to maintain accurate records and ensure proper document management procedures are followed.

Supply Chain and Procurement Support

The Administration Clerk will also assist with procurement and supply chain administration duties, including:

Important Application Instructions

In terms of the Directive on Compulsory Capacity Development, Mandatory Training Days, and Minimum Entry Requirements for Senior Management Service (SMS) positions, all applicants applying for SMS posts from 1 April 2020 are required to successfully complete the Senior Management Pre-Entry Programme endorsed by the National School of Government (NSG). Successful candidates applying for SMS positions will be required to provide proof of completion of the NSG Public Service Senior Management Leadership Programme Certificate for Entry into the SMS. Candidates shortlisted for SMS posts will also be subjected to a technical exercise and a compulsory competency-based assessment as part of the recruitment and selection process.

Appointments will be subject to positive outcomes from the security clearance process as well as the verification of educational qualification certificates. Appointment to these positions will remain provisional pending the finalisation and issuing of the required security clearance. Fingerprints will be taken on the day of the interview, and the social media accounts of shortlisted candidates may also be accessed during the verification process.

The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance agreement and employment contract within three months from the date of assumption of duty. In addition, successful candidates will be expected to declare to the Executive Authority all particulars relating to registrable financial interests as required by government regulations.

Applicants are advised that the new Z83 application form must be completed fully and signed in order for the application to be accepted. The new Z83 form can be downloaded from the official Department of Public Service and Administration website at DPSA Vacancies Portal or collected from any government department.
