REQUIREMENTS
  • An undergraduate qualification in Public Management, Public Administration, Operations, Business Management, Management, Administration, Law or Social Science (NQF Level 6 as recognized by SAQA).
  • 3 Years’ supervisory experience in Operations in a client or customer services environment.
  • Experience in Civic or Immigration Operations will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of the South African Constitution and all relevant Public Service and Departmental legislative frameworks.
  • Experience in project management, project optimization and online systems.
  • Knowledge of National Treasury Regulations, PFMA, HR regulatory framework, OHS Act.
  • Knowledge of workflow and capacity planning.
  • Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles, MISS, PAJA and PAIA.
  • A valid driver’s licence.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours.

DUTIES

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Managing overall operations and performance of the Local Office.
  • Providing operational guidance at Local Office level.
  • Managing safe and secure enabling documents (citizenship, births, marriages, deaths, travel documents, passports).
  • Ensuring delivery on Government’s Programme of Action.
  • Overseeing Immigration Inspectorate activities.
  • Building partnerships with stakeholders and representing the Office in forums.
  • Implementing strategic objectives and digital transformation.
  • Coordinating and monitoring the operational plan.
  • Implementing governance processes, policies and risk management.
  • Managing human, physical and financial resources.
  • Coaching staff on compliance requirements.
