An opportunity has become available for a Trainee Social Media Co-Ordinator based at our Head Office in Drummond KZN, reporting to the Head of social media with the possible start date of 01 November 2024.
As a trainee, your journey will be filled with opportunities to immerse yourself in the captivating world of social media, with a focus on health topics and natural health products in South Africa.
The ideal candidate must have interest in health topics, health in South Africa and natural health products, with the ability to identify relevant and interesting content hooks and angles. A high energy level, innovative with a friendly warm communication skill set will be needed in this role as well as being a team player.
Responsibilities and Duties:
You will be oriented in the development of the following competencies:
- Learn the art of coordinating social media content. Collaborate with the design team on monthly content and master the creation of content plans and strategies.
- Work with the marketing teams to ensure content is aligned to their product focus and overall marketing activities.
- Channel Navigation. Control of social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). Adapt content to suit each channel, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience.
- Content Scheduling. Utilising social media tools such as Sprout Social to schedule monthly content of social media channels.
- Data analytics. Master tools like Facebook insights and Sprout Social to monitor, track, analyse, and report on social media platform performance.
- Stay up to date with latest social media best practices and technologies.
- Community Management: develop the skills to manage communities for various brands on social media. Nurture engagement and create a positive online community.
Knowledge, skills & experience required:
- Strong English oral and written communication skills, and warm communication style. As a team player, your ability to collaborate and communicate effectively will be key to our success.
- Strong knowledge of Facebook Business Manager, Social Media channels, and social media management tools such as Sprout Social, Buffer, and Hootsuite.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Copywriting skills. This role will teach you to craft compelling messages that resonate with our audience.
- Friendly and approachable nature.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. This role is dynamic and will develop your capacity to stay organized and focused.
- Forward thinker and proactive.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- Short course in social media marketing will be an advantage
- Qualification in Corporate Communications, Public Relations or Marketing will be an advantage
