Position: Packaging: Packer

Reporting to: Team Leader

Job Purpose
To pack products correctly and in accordance with pharmaceutical quality systems and Adcock quality standards.

Required Learning
– Matric
– A technical qualification will be an advantage
– 2 years in a pharmaceutical packaging hall environment will be an advantage

Key Job Outputs
– Ensure understanding and compliance of all relevant SOPs.
– Ensure adherence to the Dress Code and the usage of PPE.
– Ensure adherence to staff movement within the facility to minimise the risk of cross-contamination and mix-ups.
– Ensure customer service is maintained by delivering product on time by packing right the first time according to production plan and BPR.
– Adhere to productivity requirements to ensure hourly and shift targets are met.
– All documentation to be completed and verified by Pharmacist / Pharmacist Assistant, and must comply with Good Documentation Practice (GDP) and company / departmental SOPs.
– To adhere to Pharmaceutical Quality Systems and SOP requirements relevant to area of responsibility

– Ensure the work area is cleaned and tidied to an acceptable level of GMP at the end of the shift or run of the batch.
– Report any deviations and discrepancies to the
Supervisor/Pharmacist and/or Pharmacist Assistant.
– Any corrective action is taken where necessary in accordance with departmental / company SOPs.
– Proactively participate in batch change overs and ensure that it is completed within the set standard time.
– Report any unsafe or unhealthy situations to SHE representatives or Line manager
– Report any incident to the SHE representative or Line Manager which may affect your health or cause injury
– Adhere to all SHE regulations e.g. PPE
– Familiarise yourself with company policies and procedures, comply with them at all times, paying special attention to time and attendance such as shift start and end times as well as adherence to tea/lunch breaks.
